Advertisement Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Hi Guest johann_wolfgang, Take a look here I met him downtown . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 18, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2006 Johann - What a wonderful face, and the strong lighting emphasizes much of what is so interesting about the face. Of course the composition and tones are spot-on. too
jmr Posted July 18, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2006 Johann, nice portrait; great intensity of expression.

Guest johann_wolfgang Posted July 19, 2006 Share #7 Posted July 19, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) @Stuart, John, Daniel and Arthur: thanks a lot for your compliments, nice to read. @Stefan:I was happy to have his head raised up and look towards my camera - he was so busy in the bright sun Next shadow to far away. I like the artists face expression while looking against deep sun. Stefan, thanks for your comment. Johann
Guest menze_as Posted July 19, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 19, 2006 on Kudamm, isn't it, Johann? Didn't see him before ... I will have a look around staying in my old hometown again one time. I like the scene (left picture) although his feet are missing. But one sees him working. The BW portrait is a bit too close, to my opinion. A little bit more distance would concentrate more on his being I think. Greetings, Astrid
hm1912 Posted July 19, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 19, 2006 What a great character shot. Thanks for sharing.
rainer_p Posted July 19, 2006 Share #10 Posted July 19, 2006 ....nice portrait Johann. the hard light doesn't really bother me. had a discussion recently on some other board as I shot my granson under hte heavy sun we have her at the moment......wont mess up your threat otherwise I'd put it up here
pleeson Posted July 19, 2006 Share #11 Posted July 19, 2006 I think this is top-notch photograph and wouldn't change a thing. Much more striking than the second two. If one browses through the photo.net galleries, it's interesting how many pictures look almost too perfect and very similar. I like the wide range of images at this forum; yours adds a lot. Thanks for posting. Phil

stuny Posted July 20, 2006 Share #13 Posted July 20, 2006 As I indicated (but will expand) in my first post above, the strong light seems to acceptuate all that I like about the shot, causing squinting and making all the character lines stand out more. Don't change a thing.
