DanMitchell Posted May 3, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted May 3, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good evening. Â I've just received the lens after an 8 month wait and thrilled! One question I had is that the aperture ring goes a click past f16 and below f2. Is this normal? My 50 lux and 28 cron don't seem to have the same issue. Â Many thanks. hydeca Posted May 3, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted May 3, 2012 Yes its normal for the aperture ring to progress slightly beyond the f2 and f16 limits
Double Negative Posted May 3, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted May 3, 2012 It really depends on the lens. Some, like the Noctilux ASPH - do not go beyond, while others do. And those that do are quite minimal. Â Other manufacturers are often worse and even "clack" when they hit the last detent.
UliWer Posted May 3, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted May 3, 2012 This forum is always great for information. I have mine (38814xx) for more than ten years now, and never noticed it: yes it's normal!
Shadow Blaster Posted May 3, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted May 3, 2012 Just checked mine and it does the same - just a tad past the F2 and F16 stop. Never noticed before either.
