LichMD Posted March 5, 2007 Share #22 Â Posted March 5, 2007 This forum is about to be renamed "The M8 Bible" Â Take my vote for the name change! Â Seriously, prior to finding this forum my DSLR system had been hibernating in a bag for over a year (since I shot my brother's wedding), too heavy, too clunky, etc. This forum helped me decide to take the plunge into DRF, helped me source the M8, helped me select my first lens and helped to get Aperture working with the M8. The M8 has completely reawakened my fascination with photography, a hobby not the source of my income. In 3 weeks I've taken close to 2000 photos. Thanks to the admins and all the great members of this forum!
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 5, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted March 5, 2007 This forum is about to be renamed "The M8 Bible" Â Â Now does this bring back fond memories of the DMR bible. LOL
jaapv Posted March 5, 2007 Share #24 Â Posted March 5, 2007 Time to chime in... I have been registered here for quite some time, but lately this forum has become so good that I find myself moving away from several other forums and spending most of my internet time here. There is a great bunch of people concentrated here!
chrism Posted March 5, 2007 Share #25 Â Posted March 5, 2007 The beauty of it is that not only do we gain from each other's experience, but Leica, who provide this forum, must gain a lot too. They see us find problems, find workarounds and then they can implement them. The fact it all happens in such a civilised fashion, particularly when the forum is so lightly moderated (speaking as the admin of another non-photographic forum) says a great deal about the sense and maturity of the participants. Â Oh, you get to learn some Hungarian, too! Â Chris
george + Posted March 5, 2007 Share #26 Â Posted March 5, 2007 Please allow me to add my welcome too. I have been around since 2002 at least, back two forums. And have stayed away from all others, unless I am looking for specific problem solutions in non Leica areas. One can actually learn things here and people are nicer than some of us - me very much included - deserve. Even though I try to introduce you poor souls to Hungarian. A fun language believe me. Just look up some of the dictionaries on the net. :)

george + Posted March 6, 2007 Share #28 Â Posted March 6, 2007 Wow, some rig. And with the most reliable wind instruments in multiple copies. Thanks for sharing. Â But you should know that I can barely wait to get on board again - this time with the M8 and the cv15. Then we'll see the new avatar.
carstenw Posted March 6, 2007 Share #29 Â Posted March 6, 2007 That is the sail of a Felucca I sailed on in October, on the Nile. Great trip. 5D, 80 Lux, wide open.
chrism Posted March 6, 2007 Share #30 Â Posted March 6, 2007 The last felucca my wife sailed in gave her fleas! Sad, but true. She came home and greeted me on the doorstep with 'Don't come near; I've got fleas.' It wasn't quite the homecoming I had planned on.... Like others, I've been actively participating in a few forums, but this is the one that feels most like home  Truly, Leica--and especially the forum admins--should be commended for engendering such a great place for technique, information, and polite dissent. It's great. Thanks!
