Rip, you are referring to the Essential Must Have M9 Accessories, of course. The OP was asking about the Must Have M9 Accessories.

Let me explain; when you go out of the house you need a shirt and trousers. These are the Essentials, the underwear is an Accessory. :)

Until diaper replaces underwear.

The answer to "Jockey shorts or boxers" is "depends".

Re halfcase, Lars, if that is the main function a simple screen protector will do, or in the case of an M9P the screen is unscratchable anyway. Do people wear protectors or half-cases on their watches btw? ;)

I have tried them. I have watched them peeling off. I prefer a Luigi Crescenzi case. Brown, thanks, like real 'fifties cases were. And the fragrance is a Marcel Proust-like reminder of the one when you opened a classical roll film folder, easing the baseboard open, hearing the struts click shut, seeing and smelling the bellows unfolding. Beats any Madeleine cookie.

On the other hand, I have had enough of leather straps. I have seen the break. Composite nylon-cotton webbing is the correct material.

Yes it is curious how so many people can give so much thought to the price of an M9 when it goes wrong ("this isn't good enough for a $7000 camera" etc) and then go and hang it from a thin strip of leather.

Well..... I've had almost everything that has been listed so far...... and nearly all are now in a drawer somewhere......

The only ones which have stuck are an aged brown Luigi half case for my chrome M9-P ....... just because it looks so attractively retro and stylish.....

.... .and a Japan Exposures 1.35 mag which lives on my old M9 for Noctilux 0.95 and 75/2 use.....

I have a manfrotto table tripod but rarely take it these days as there is usualy something I can rest against or prop the camera on to take low speed pics.

Cant be bothered with flash. Given up with viewfinders.

Didn't change to Leica to load up with a haversack of gear again......
