As for spell checking, the site is actually being spell checked these days and the first result is the Page 4 of the M9 article.

It takes a while, and we keep some of my odd language. And also, if it had to be perfect there would never have been anything. At some point I decided that it was better to get things out with a few errors than nothing.

When I asked my spell checker to do this article, I got an e-mail back that the internet was too slow right now, but it would be "spell. Hecked" in short time.

So there is hope ;-)

Hopefully the spell-checker is teutonic enough to change your funny "Wetzlarer" into the proper name of the town which is "Wetzlar".

Outside of that nice article, thank you very much.

Mike

P.S. And btw, the name of Max Bereks notebooks might be "Optische Konstruktionsbücher", not "Optics Konstrucktionsbüche"

But everything in ONE camera, I don't believe it would happen.

Increasingly I think this should be the guiding principle in thinking about the welter of modern cameras. No single camera and no single system can satisfy everyone's ever increasing wish list. I am loving the range of so many worthy options. Photography has never been so rich. I agree with Thorsten in suggesting Leica needs to focus on it's comparative advantage in its niche market. Without doubt that has been the rangefinder series through to the M9. I am not convinced Sony with the Nex 7 or Fuji with the XPro-1 surplant the M9, rather I see them complimenting the Leica. I certainly have no wish to use these systems to exploit Leica glass; here the rangefinder remains supreme. Use them to exploit excellent AF glass from Zeiss and Fuji is another matter. For me, I hope Leica build on that M concept. Not sure I want a Leica M to do video, but if they really have some new magic up their sleeves I will look and listen. Find new ways to extend the M magic without changing the fundamentals would be welcome.

How many ways can I beat you dear, tired, dead, horse? Let me count the ways. Tis now the Danish wind that blows. Feel relief dead horse, a month more passing of this hot wind then, you may take your final rest.

I wish. I sold my D3 a month ago.

Well that was a silly thing to do...

If it's any consolation, the summer of 2006 was exactly the same, only worse. Endless speculation about how the Leica Digital M would be, what it would be called and all the rest. Andy Piper referred to the dog days of summer when it was too hot to go shooting so the only thing to do was start another rumour about the camera.

I have no idea what we might see on May 10th but if the 50mm Summilux ASPH was designed by Peter Karbe in his spare time, I do wonder what he's been up to since then.
