j_w_davies Posted March 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Every time I switch my Digilux 2 on I get the following message: Please set the clock clock set - menu Yes, the clock needs reseting as it's gone back to the 1/1/2004 date. Not the biggest problem, but a bit annoying. Does anyone have any ideas for a solution?

pop Posted March 19, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2012 The clock will stop running if you leave the camera for some time without any battery inserted or if the battery becomes empty. Suggestion: use your D2 more often. It deserves it.
wda Posted March 19, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 19, 2012 It is probably power supply related. Older batteries do lose capacity over time although my originals are still performing. Philip may be on the right track.
j_w_davies Posted March 19, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted March 19, 2012 It's true that I don't leave the battery in, when the camera isn't in use. The clock set issue has only started recently though, and the camera doesn't reset any of the other functions. Is there an internal battery that can be replaced? farnz Posted March 21, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 21, 2012 It sounds like the motherboard battery has run down. I suspect that if you leave a fresh D2 battery in your camera for a day or two your mobo battery will charge from it, you'll be able to reset the clock and your D2 will be happy again. I remember that forum member Audidudi posted a documented D2 teardown a few years ago so if you needed to change the mobo battery a search for that thread would help you. Pete.
