Michael Hiles Posted March 20, 2012 Share #61 Posted March 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Film speed ]- for the usual kinds of film - is an objective characteristic of the emulsion Of course. My experience is that the number printed on the box is often misleading in practice. My aim to to find the film speed number that produces a specific density on the negative with my camera and developer. What the manufacturer asserts is a start, but experience tells me that it usually does not achieve my objective. So I test. Then I make pictures. Advertisement Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hi Michael Hiles, Take a look here Ilford Delta 3200. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jon Pop Posted March 22, 2012 Share #62 Posted March 22, 2012 I love Delta 3200...one of my favourite films. I have had nothing but great results with shooting it in my MP at 3200, and processing it in Ilfotec-DDX at the time stated on the Massive Dev Chart, which I think is 9.5 minutes. Not too grainy to the point of distraction, but enough to give it some character!
