DES Posted April 4, 2012 Share #141 Posted April 4, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got mine too. It is a beauty. Great new about Blurb's interest, a bit shabby they won't "buy" the book but it can only be a good thing. Andy, Thought your piece on the blog was superb. stunsworth Posted April 11, 2012 Share #144 Posted April 11, 2012 I received my copy of the book directly from Andy. The cost of that didn't include a donation to AICR, so I've just donated £20 directly via Just Giving. Congratulations once again to Andy for organising all of this. andybarton Posted April 11, 2012 Author Share #145 Posted April 11, 2012 Thanks Steve We mustn't forget that the UK taxpayer has added £175 via GiftAid too. I was tempted to tick the GiftAid box when I put the £790 through, but since it's not "income" to me, I don't think it right to reclaim tax I haven't paid. andybarton Posted April 15, 2012 Author Share #146 Posted April 15, 2012 I promised to advise when we got to 100 books sold. I've just checked, and this weekend we have one reached 101. Great stuff
andybarton Posted April 20, 2012 Author Share #147 Posted April 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can I just confirm that AICR, the charity for whom we have raised around £20,000 is the Scottish based Association for International Cancer Research, and NOT the American Institute for Cancer Research. Just so that there is no doubt. To the best of my knowledge, and that of everyone involved in the LUF Charity Book, the two are not connected. Thanks. andybarton Posted May 9, 2012 Author Share #151 Posted May 9, 2012 I have transfered the April sales figure over today. We will soon be at £5,000 for this edition, which is a very nice sum, given that we are doing this all on our own this year, without a contribution from Leica.
