maxspbr Posted March 7, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 7, 2012 Never heard about this kind of case - but it is certainly a wonderful piece. And much more wonderful when filled with so many interesting things!

luigi bertolotti Posted March 8, 2012 Share #4 Posted March 8, 2012 That's a wonderful case !!! Very very stylish and a perfect match to the RR... even if I think the timing is different... , for me that "Leica" lettering identifies it as a postwar product (surely in the '50s, right for If/IIf/IIf) . I am not sure that this was a standard listed Leitz Wetzlar product... even if the detail of inserts is such fine that smells a lot of the similar insets around which Leitz made a lot of combination cases (the well known breed of ETGUS / ETGAM etc...).... but the color of the leather makes me to think of a 3rd party accessory... in the golden ages of Leica there were many (for instance, the well known Benser cases), and some of them of excellent quality... probably, after approval from E.Leitz, their manufacturers had the right to identify them as "Leica" accessories, even writing the name onto. I can be wrong... at the times of M series Leitz did make leather cases of this kind, for multiple bodies... shape not too dissimilar from your item... it is mainly the color that makes me dubious about identifying it as a Leitz Wetzlar product.... I remember having seen one in the early 70s at the Le Bourget air show (in my memory, the red was quite darker), the owner telling me that it had been made on special order through the French Leica importer Tiranty (I had noticed that the copper fastening systems were different of all known Leitz ones). By the way, what "25mm" lens are you refering to ?
