sfage Posted February 26, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all! I know that the Elmarit 60 macro ® does not 'need' a lens hood. The front element is so recessed that it makes the hood pointless. "But". I have an issue with the Elmarit upon my 5d. Owing to the battery grip being on the camera (I like the "feel" of it because I have really big hands) plus the convenience of being able to take over a thousand shots upon one charge; I like it. Second, there is a manfrotto tripod clamp attached to the bottom of the camera. This makes the camera quite top heavy when set down upon my desk. The problem is: the camera has fallen upon its "nose" twice. As you might imagine, I am not particularly thrilled by this. So, I would like to get a lens hood for the Elmarit -- I'd rather the hood was damaged than the lens. What is the model number of the lens hood that will fit on the 60 macro? Does anyone know? lct Posted February 26, 2012 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2012 If you have an early version (sn < 3013651) it has a 12514 hood, otherwise it is supposed to have a « built-in telescopic » hood according to the specs but i've never been able to find one on mine. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/60mm_f/2.8_Macro-Elmarit-R http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/12514
