satureyes Posted February 23, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted February 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not sure what it's called but the loop that you put your fingernail behind and pop down to open the lock on the m9 baseplate has decided to hang down so it no longer stays flush with the baseplate during use. It's a bit annoying. Â Can I tighten it somehow? I'm still under warranty but seems like something that is easy to fix?
Advertisement Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Hi satureyes, Take a look here Baseplate opening loop falls down. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
algrove Posted February 23, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted February 23, 2012 If under warranty, send it to Leica. If not, use black electrical tape. If you ever upgrade they replace the base plate as part of the upgrade.

Seems a little over the too to send the camera in for a new base plate.
jaapv Posted February 24, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted February 24, 2012 They might at that but they certainly won't if you don't ask them. I had a brand new loaner M9 which developed the same annoyance after a few weeks. Obviously I just taped it up for the rest of my use.
