leicamann Posted February 23, 2012 Share #1  Posted February 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) D3...just resizing for web..this is an amazing camera, the colour palette is very natural, just like Kodak Portra 160 NC, so sharp..I used absolutely zero USM to post this shot!!   A few things to note, I was supposed to get the Snowy Owl shots today( sorry Doug), but the whole shoot was ruined... so I will have to go out tomorrow and redo it.... good thing it wasn't film, the light was a bit harsh too....so we'll see.  The other good news, is this time I wasn't T-Boned by a drunk driver, this was the first time I was at the George Reifel Bird Sanctuary since November 24th 2009, when this drunk deliberately rammed my truck after an excellent day with the DMR. So needless to say I was a little nervous about driving home, it wasn't a good day until the truck was stopped and parked at home..  Thanks for looking  Cheers, JRM

Bob Jackson Posted March 12, 2012 Share #13 Â Posted March 12, 2012 This is a beautiful pair of cranes. Well photographed, with great lighting and contrast. There was a flock of Sand Hill Cranes that flew over my house today, they make a really unique squawking sound when they fly. A sure sign spring is here. Â Â Thanks Bob.. the cranes when they fly and make their call are truly majestic, there is something " other worldly or for lack of a better word..Jurassic" about that sound. My favorite view of them is when they are in the air, water or nesting. Â Cheers, JRM
