cfx Posted February 21, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some pictures from a hike to the volcano telica, near León, Nicaragua. At first we startet with horses in the small village San Jacinto. After two hours on the horse we reached a elevated plain. From there we walked two more hours up to the crater at 1061 meter above sea level. After pitching our tent and a typical nicaraguan dinner (chicken, rice, red beans) which we carried with six liters water up ourself, we startet up to the crater. Full moon created very nice light. great trip I hope you enjoy it too... btw: I do not have tripod here in Nicaragua. Therefore I borrowed a cheap Manfrotto from a friend. The lesson from this: Never use a tiny tripod with you M on rough and rocky flor. My M8 kissed the volcanic stones from one meter. Nice scratch... Michael Geschlecht Posted February 22, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 22, 2012 Hello Christian, Welcome to the Forum. Nice photos. You can find any number of places to put a small, solid, table tripod w/ large ballhead & cable release whether it is in your living room or in the field. Against my chest I get +2 stops of stability. Don't forget a rigid lens hood, more for protection from unexpected, inadvertant impact than for flare suppression. Best Regards, Michael
