Wind and water make it like a blue Slot Canyon (x2)

I'm told the blue in glacial ice is due to the huge forces of compression. The patterns are due to erosian by wind and water. As ice bergs erode and melt it's not unusual for them to flip over, exposing more forces of natire upon them. the patterns remind me of SLit Canyon in the US Southwest.

I shot both of these from a Zodiac in the Weddell Sea. Visit our site to see many more shots from Antarctica.
