ymc226 Posted February 7, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I go to the B&H website quite often to check on M lens availability. Presently, the Zeiss and Leica M lenses are not listed anymore. Hopefully, this is only a revamp of their website as they are great to deal with and they charge list. cbretteville Posted February 7, 2012 Share #3 Posted February 7, 2012 They're all there. The Leica glass is back ordered, but plenty of CVs and ZMs in stock Rangefinder Lenses Carl
ymc226 Posted February 7, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted February 7, 2012 They're all there. The Leica glass is back ordered, but plenty of CVs and ZMs in stock Rangefinder Lenses Carl Thanks. They were likely revamping the page. Calling around but no chrome 50 Summiluxes to be had. The Leica website is difficult to navigate in searching for official dealers throughout the country. It only shows local dealers and you can't specify by state. I called Leica Gallery in NYC and they told me to call Leica directly to provide a printed list of all of their dealers. RockyIII Posted February 10, 2012 Share #5 Posted February 10, 2012 B&H currently shows the 35mm Summarit as being in stock. Rocky
Deliberate1 Posted February 10, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 10, 2012 B&H currently shows the 35mm Summarit as being in stock. Rocky Check with them before pulling the trigger. I ordered one from them a month ago and was advised that it is was out of stock. No matter, I got the 35mm Zeiss ZM from them which is a lovely piece of glass, and for about $700 less. ganzosrevenge Posted February 10, 2012 Share #7 Posted February 10, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I noticed it's not just B&H that is having massive short supply problems. Could demand be outstripping supply that based on how leica builds lenses (we build this lens for x amt of time, then this lens for x mat of time, etc.,) that the cycle hasn't come back around yet? I don't think all of a sudden every wealthy person purchased the world supply of M cameras Jason

It's not a matter of production cycles, and more the result of increasing global demand versus Leica's limited ability to replenish supply.

It's not a matter of production cycles, and more the result of increasing global demand versus Leica's limited ability to replenish supply. That and unscrupulous, greedy people ordering four lenses at dealers to resell them on eBay.

mafoofan Posted February 10, 2012 Share #11 Posted February 10, 2012 To be fair, I think the explosive popularity of the M9 exceeded anyone's expectations by a wide margin.
