You do know that the only thing different about a coded lens are the pits engraved/painted in the rear flange, right? A lens subsequently coded by Leica would be the same as one which came from the factory coded. And in terms of functionality, if done properly an aftermarket-milled coding has the same functionality as a factory coding.

Are you sure? when Leica code a pre-coding lens, they calibrate it for digital i've been told. Don't ask me what such calibrating may consist in though. My dremel tool cannot answer anyway. :D
