lct Posted January 30, 2012 Share #28 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Did you use the same Summicron which had softness problems Lothar?
01af Posted January 30, 2012 Share #29 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Please understand that this does not show the relative lens qualities but how accurately you can focus them with your M8.
Ivar B Posted January 30, 2012 Share #30 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Interesting. The Biogon seems to be in the front here - how does this test match your results in practical shooting?
LotharZhou Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share #31 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Yes it is the one, and Leica replied to me and applogized that they made a fasle statement about the lens. We will see what's next. Â Did you use the same Summicron which had softness problems Lothar?
LotharZhou Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share #32 Â Posted January 30, 2012 of course not showing the actual quality, and lens samples vary a lot in quality aspect. Â Please understand that this does not show the relative lens qualities but how accurately you can focus them with your M8.
LotharZhou Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share #33 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Indeed the Biogon does a wonderful job, although my copy shows front focus at F2, and from F2.8 it's perfect. Â Interesting. The Biogon seems to be in the front here - how does this test match your results in practical shooting?
lct Posted January 30, 2012 Share #34 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Please understand that this does not show the relative lens qualities but how accurately you can focus them with your M8. Hard to check with blurred images due to abnormal softness of one lens IMHO.
01af Posted January 30, 2012 Share #35 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Hard to check with blurred images due to abnormal softness of one lens IMHO. Why do you think one of the lenses was abnormally soft?
lct Posted January 30, 2012 Share #36 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Lothar has had problems with it. See his post above.
LotharZhou Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share #37 Â Posted January 30, 2012 yeah, my cron 35 has been to solms quite a few times and the issue still exists. Â Why do you think one of the lenses was abnormally soft?
01af Posted January 30, 2012 Share #38 Â Posted January 30, 2012 yeah, my Summicron 35 has been to Solms quite a few times and the issue still exists. The issue is not the lens being soft but inaccurate focusing. Did you send the lens to Solms together with your camera or just the lens alone?
LotharZhou Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share #39 Â Posted January 30, 2012 Yes I did send in with the camera together with the lens, as I said this particular copy does have a sharpness issue, Leica will deal with it again.
