tekos Posted January 29, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Fianlly, I got M9(second hand), I have 2 important task I have: -How to tell/show M9 today my wife when she is back from her trip, and I forgot her birthday last friday because of M9 purchase excitement. -Second, I noticed my M9 version is 1.002; I saw 1.476. Should I increase version to latest? -Since my M9 is second hand purchase, Leica did not allow me to register and see upgrade info. I sent e-mail to leica, is there any other place where I can reach version upgrade info. Can anyone make any suggestion? Tahnks in advance, Tekin
Advertisement Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Hi tekos, Take a look here should I upgrade M9 version 1.002 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
M. Valdemar Posted January 29, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2012 1) Why do you have to tell your wife anything? Are you henpecked? Maybe just send her on another trip, a long one. Get a younger girlfriend. 2) Just Google the words "Leica M9" and the firmware version. Do you like living in Greece?
microview Posted January 29, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2012 Think you saw 1.176 (Dec 2011 upgrade). As noted you don't need to register anything to access (a) latest firmware, ( info sheet on how to install same. Just go to Leica website/photographic/M9 downloads. tekos Posted January 29, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted January 29, 2012 Thanks to the suggestions, SLR world many software patches are openly available, but Leica looks more sensitive to tracking their products and software upgrades. I though (not looking much around) Leica controlling all software patches thru their web page. I will try to find latest release and try to upgrade latest version, but my M9 software version (1.002) is looks like too old and I wanted to hear opinions directly from oldest to the lates. digitalpowershot Posted January 29, 2012 Share #6 Posted January 29, 2012 Ask the seller/dealer to announce Leica (via email, CC: Buyer) that the camera has been sold to you. Leica has to delete the previous registration, before you'll be able to register your camera.

Paul Verrips Posted January 29, 2012 Share #8 Posted January 29, 2012 Blame yourself for forgetting the birthday of your wife:rolleyes:........... Send Leica a mail and request them resetting the registration by SN-number and include a copy of the invoice so they cancheck that you are the legal owner.
