Cancelling fotodiox order

Absolutely terrible customer service.

I have been waiting 3 weeks for their adapter to arrive in the shop I ordered it from. I have called customer service (at fotodiox) to ask where it is, I gave them my phone number and never heard back from them. I called the shop I ordered their adapter from and suddenly it is going to be another 2 weeks. No phone call to me with an explanation... nothing.

Screw you. I can't do business with "my" clients this way. Why should " I " put up with it?

Post-script: I noticed B+H in New York doesn't sell fotodiox.

I wonder why.

I'm ususally not one to join a bitch session, but...

I have purchased 3 adapters from Fotodiox. All to adapt to Sony E mount for the NEX-5.

Fotodiox Pro M to Sony

Fotodiox Pro M39 to Sony

Fotodiox R to Sony

I did not run into any shipping delays at all, however the thread mount adapter seemed off to me. Screwing the lens all the way into the adapter until it was snug, resulted in the lens controls being 90 degrees off, or pointing down instead of up. It made a lens like the Summaron 35 3.5 with it's 90 degrees of left hand focus, become 90 degrees of right hand focus, plus it was upside down AND I my right hand was sort of busy operating the shutter!

I tried to contact them to express my frustration using just the computer. When I filled out the "Contact Us" form on the website, no response. 2 or 3 emails, no response.

After a week and half of quiet, the thread mount adapter went into the bay.

That being said, the "all metal" build quality on the Pro M adapter is pretty decent. The not all metal R adapter is good, but not as good.

Gerry, it may be that the dealer failed to place the order with Fotodiox. You say Fotodiox doesn't reply to you but does to the dealer. Why assume the problem is with Fotodiox?

I've ordered only one item from them, but it came sooner than expected.

Never had a problem with them and I have quite a few of their adapters. Some variability in how the adapters fit, but considering their relatively low prices, I prefer to pair up lenses with adapters that fit well and leave them attached. They have always shipped incredibly fast when ordered directly from them or through amazon. For some of their adapters amazon actually does the shipping. But both companies ship equally well in my experience.

I ordered the Pro-M adapter for my Sony NEX-5N in early December, from fotodiox.com.

It took 31 days (!) between payment and having it in my hands.

The ring works fine, but it is the last time I will buy anything from them =/

I did the same in mid January, had the Pro-M adapter for my Sony NEX-5N and 5 other items 3 days later. I see you are in Australia und I am in the USA. That could explain the difference. Did they ship your adapter by air or by boat?

Anyway, all my items work flawlessly.

Greetings to Australia. Best Regards, K-H.

... Did they ship your adapter by air or by boat?

It would appear they used an empty jam-jar, which they threw into the water off the coast of Florida, and then relied on currents to eventually wash it ashore somewhere in northwest Australia.

Presumably it was then picked up off one of the sand-dunes by a passing camel train which, eventually, brought the item to Sydney.

Like I said - never ever again.
