(I used the camera yesterday) Please take a look at the pictures below. The first is taken with the D2 at 35mm(equiv.) and white balance manual set on a white surface. The second is taken with My D1 also at 35mm (equiv) and white balance manual set on a white. Normally both pictures should look the same. Not only the colors are very strange on the D2 image but also the viewing angle is different. Last week my dealer told my that Leica (Germany) sended the camera back to Belgium. Today I hear my camera is still in Germany. I'm waiting more then 7 weeks now, while Leica NY seems to do the same job in 10 days. This is not the first time, repair took so long. It is not the first time I hear that a camera has been send back, while it is still in Germany. Why is communication from Leica Germany soo bad? Â Whilst I have not used the Leica NY facility, maybe someone else on this forum can comment.......do they actually have a high-capability service facility, or are they just a 'dust-n-blow' shop ? Â I sent my D2 to Solms and it stayed there for 8 weeks. I was patient enough to wait as my D2 was an 'out-of-warranty' situation, and as Leica were kind enough to extend a warranty to me, I wasn't going to rush them. Â Actually I was so appreciative of the extended warranty offered to me, I went out and bought another Leica branded product (D3/L1) to allow me to photograph an important family journey, whilst my D2 was being repaired. stuny Posted April 20, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 20, 2007 Leica NJ has able techs with proper tools, but it is not set-up to do either the volume nor breadth of work done in Solms. Â When I had a D2 issue (early January) they told me they'd have to send it to Solms and I'd have it back in 5 to 6 weeks. I had it back in 5 1/2 weeks. Recently two or three memebers mentioned getting their D2s back quicker. Perhaps Leica NJ is now doing the work locally, but I don't know. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I bought a V-Lux 1 for the same reason. But why did they told last week they sended the camera, to hear this week, it is still in Germany? Â Why do they communicate that bad.
