baachitraka Posted January 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I just bought an ILFord Multigrade filter set with a holder and try to put it under Focomat Ic, but in no way I can fix the holder to the lens. I do not know what to do now...
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Hi baachitraka, Take a look here Focomat Ic + ILFord Multigrade = No success. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Broadside Posted January 20, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) You could try just holding the filter under the lens or alternatively place the filter above the negative holder under the condenser. That's assuming you have the plain square filters, not the ones with a holder. Edited January 20, 2012 by Broadside 2nd thoughts
gyoung Posted January 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 20, 2012 For my 1a I made a frame out of bent coat hanger wire to rest the filters on. Gerry
Eric Posted January 20, 2012 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2012 Placing the filter above the condensor, so just beneath the lamp, works great for me. Good luck!

thomasw_ Posted January 20, 2012 Share #6 Posted January 20, 2012 hi i use a focomat 1c w/o a filter tray for all of my 35mm enlarging. the best way to use the ilford filters is on the condensor; in doing so, you will not suffer any image degradation due to old or scratched filters. I find it very fast and convenient to pop them in and take them out. When I do split grade filering, which is rather rare, I will sometimes hold the filters under the focotar-2 lens...though, this is only when I am being lazy hope this helps, thomas
baachitraka Posted January 23, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted January 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Lately I found there is an unique filter holder for focomat Ic which can be fitted by removing the red/orange filter holder.
