so..

have been doing some research, believe i have found 2 websites that mention them, so not much really. yes also wiki page also.but not the info i was looking for.

also on here as well.

 

 

so couple of questions to the quizmasters out there.

 

this is made with rare earth glass?

how many type 2`s had the m mount?

focus ring is so very tight, should i be worried?

Only comment I can make is that this is a 39mm thread mount lens with an original Leitz LTM to M adapter, just by looking at the mount.

 

here's one for a 90mm...

1) Highly doubt that Zunow would have used rare earth glass in the 1950's.....

2) As noted above - all were Thread Mount. Your lens has an LTM to M Mount adapter

3) Worried? No but, if it annoys you, get the lens re-lubricated. Obviously, the helical grease has dried up over the years.....

 

I agree that it's probably an adapter... but not a Leitz original : they have a typical cutout along the external ring.

 

Luigi, it appears to be an original Leitz adapter. The cut-out is there but hard to see due to excessive contrast in the photo.
