ksporry Posted January 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey guys, I am considering getting a Nokton 25mm F0.95. I like light strong lenses for low light situations. However, this particular lens does not come with an M-mount (Micro-4/3 only). Is it posisble to use an adapter to fit this on my M8.2? Also, how would it perform on a Leica? I guess there is the risk that the M8.2 sensor (APS-C I believe) is too big for this particular lens (M-4/3). It'd still be worth checking though as it is an affordable low light lens. Any opinions?

jaques Posted January 6, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 6, 2012 i don't know exactly why but I am pretty sure this lens cannot be used on an M mount camera...
adan Posted January 6, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 6, 2012 Won't work. The lens MIGHT barely cover the M8's cropped sensor (likely not), but the real problems are: 1. No way to focus (no RF cam connection). Scale-focusing a 25mm is possible at f/4, but not at f/1.4 (which eliminates the whole purpose of the lens - might as well get the Skopar 25 f/4 already made in M-mount). 2. m4/3rds mount-to-sensor distance is shorter than Leica Ms. M lenses can go on m4/3rds with room for an adapter, but not vice versa. The extra depth of the M8 would act like an extension tube, leaving you with a macro-only lens (and still no way to focus).

It will not work on any Leica M even should you find or make an adapter. Besides the backspace issue, there is no coupling to the rangefinder. It is a superb lens, still rather difficult to use on an M-43 (entirely manual f-stop and focus), but I got a G1 just to use the lens. It is very sharp wide-open even at minimum distance. luigi bertolotti Posted January 15, 2012 Share #7 Posted January 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there a Sony Nex version of this lens? No, afaik... in theory a micro 4/3 lens could be adapted on a Nex body (flange distance : 18mm for Nex, 20mm for m43), but don't know if adapters do exist... and neither if the Voigtlander 25 f 0,95 does cover the APS-C format of Nex, which is anyway larger than Micro 4/3.
