Addy444 Posted December 31, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi -I have just purchased a Digilux 1 (mint condition) but noticed that the lens appears to be very loose -it seems its the outside surround not the lens glass itself -it moves very easily with a gentle touch up and down and from side to side -is this normal? I guess in a strong wind it would move quite easily. Not sure if I need to send it back or if it is a characteristic of the camera -thanks for your help in advance. Advertisement Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Hi Addy444, Take a look here Digilux 1 Lens "Play". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted December 31, 2011 Share #2 Posted December 31, 2011 The lens barrel (glass included) wobbles a bit on my samples as well. Never lost them because of wind though Don't worry i've been using them since 2002 w/o any problem this way.
Addy444 Posted January 3, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted January 3, 2012 Thanks -I've heard of quite a few owners who have the Digilux 1 camera and the lens does appear to have some movement within the housing -it doesn't seem to affect the picture at all -I guess it is an old camera -I have to say it takes quite special pictures -- See attached Hand-Held -No Flash --not bad for an "oldie" ! shinglj Posted January 3, 2012 Share #4 Posted January 3, 2012 The lens barrel on my recently revived Digilux 1( see post below) also has a fair bit of play which it has had from new . Ignore it . Despite the "slop" it does take great photos including, remarkably, great infra red photos. shinglj The Rolling Road
