M4-2 STOLEN

Recommended Posts

Advertisement (gone after registration)

In the early hours of 24 December my home was burgled whilst I was asleep upstairs. Amongst the items stolen was my recently purchased M4-2 (serial number 1529205) together with a 40mm Summicron lens (serial number not recorded). I am posting this in the hope that it is offered to a fellow forum member... in the meantime I will keep a lookout on the usual internet auction sites. Not a great end to the year, I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear about your loss and hope the thief or thieves are apprehended and that your camera and lens are returned to you.

Good luck and keeping fingers crossed for you.

There is a service within Leica that traces stolen gear in the event it ever is presented for service. You should register with them.

Too bad you're not in Los Angeles. I could loan you an M4-2 to get through the holiday. Hopefully you have something else adequate for the purpose.

Good luck, and don't let it put too much of a dampener on your Christmas.

Thanks for your kind offer, Eric. Fortunately I have a D-Lux4 which they didn't find - that M4-2 was in mint condition though, and I'm sure it will be very hard to replace...

Once your insurance policy pays out, check back with the forum as many members have very nice gear. Finding a mint M4-2 shouldn't be too much of a task. PM me if you aren't having luck.

zenonzinonos,

I'm very sorry to hear about the theft of your M4-2 - I can only imagine how heartsick you must have felt when you discovered this outrage.

Fortunately, the majority of thieves and thugs inhabit the strata of the intellectual spectrum from "not too bright" on downward to "plain stupid." this may work in your favor in terms of recovering your M4-2.

Here's hoping.
