Advertisement Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hi wieni, Take a look here Which is the best bag for a Leica M? [Merged]. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted December 20, 2011 Share #22 Â Posted December 20, 2011 OH yes it does... (panto season ) Honestly, if you are carrying a well-made, obviously padded bag that you appear "aware" of, even the slowest guttersnipe is going to work out that it contains something of value. Â Forget the camera for a moment, even without that we are all wearing or carrying hundreds of pounds worth of kit - watch, portable telephone, tablet, Kindle, etc. Please don't kid yourself, or operate with a false sense of security - you are a target. Guest Wolfgang Sch Posted December 20, 2011 Share #23 Â Posted December 20, 2011 The Think Tank R5 is my favorite bag for the M9 together with three lenses (2/50,3.8/24,2.5/90) and a few other things. When I need a bag only for the camera with mounted (small)lens and an other lens the lowe pro Apex 110 is my choice, because it can be a compartment in a backpack, I can fix it at a belt or use it as a shoulder bag. Â Â Agreed. What else would a grown man carry about in such a bag? Â If you are a student, or under 30, you can carry a messenger bag over your shoulder and people expect you to have maybe a phone and an iPad and a can of RedBull in it - you are a target. Â If you are 50, and are carrying a bag, chances are it's got something even more valuable in it. Â Look after your stuff, or someone else will. Applies in every city and town in the world. Â I use a Barbour Bag"]Barbour Bag, designed to carry shotgun cartridges. Given that most people don't carry shotgun cartridges around in normal life, it can only house one other thing. It isn't a camera bag, but it looks like one. They all do.
RobSkeoch Posted December 20, 2011 Share #25 Â Posted December 20, 2011 I think I have one of each but the Billingham Digital is great with a camera and two lens. If I'm bringing a film body I use the Billingham L-2, which used to be called the Alice (respelling of Leica). -Rob Skeoch
LeicaStan Posted December 21, 2011 Share #26 Â Posted December 21, 2011 There is probably no "best" bag as selection depends on what you need to carry vs. size concerns. At the time it was introduced some years ago, what is now the Tenba Black Label small-size bag was marketed to M-camera owners and it still is. This is an extremely well-made, rugged, well-padded, and compact bag that weighs a little more than a pound. I carry an M6 with Tri-Elmar, a 90, light meter, filters, some film, etc. Check out the Tenba website where they have a video about this bag and good luck. Paul Verrips Posted December 24, 2011 Share #38 Â Posted December 24, 2011 I own 3 Billingham bags: Leica combi, Hadley small, Hadley large. Â The Combi is OK but for me a bit small. The Small fits for my purpose best (M9, 21, 35, 50, 2 batteries, viewfinder). The Large is good for transport if i want to take everything with me. Â For me only Billingham, thats my favorite style. wattsy Posted December 24, 2011 Share #39  Posted December 24, 2011 The Barbour Tarris cases are a perfect fit (I have tried in shop), so I'm thinking about something different for the look so not obviously photography. Any Scottish photographers the tartan material bag is very nice indeed  Barbour Wool Tartan Tarras Bag - Barbour By Mail Online Store  The Barbour Tarras in tartan looks great if you are a woman of a certain age. wattsy Posted December 24, 2011 Share #40 Â Posted December 24, 2011 Â I use a Barbour Bag"]Barbour Bag, designed to carry shotgun cartridges. Given that most people don't carry shotgun cartridges around in normal life, it can only house one other thing. It isn't a camera bag, but it looks like one. They all do. Â I've got that bag. It's not a cartridge bag - it's far too big (I used to do a lot of shooting in my teens so know what a cartridge bag looks like). Barbour do also sell cartridge bags and I did once consider getting one to carry a camera in but the opening is too small for a Leica with lens attached and, to the untrained eye, the bag looks like a woman's handbag.
