Hello guys,

I have a Lica camera and I'm guessing that it is the Leica IIIc model, but as I checked some pictures on the internet I saw some details that either proved my guess right but sometimes also wrong.

Now I found this page and thought you guys might probably know best what Lica camera I have and might even also know how much that little beauty is worth now a days.

The camera, or well at least the shutter sound like he works just fine and I have the impression that everything is in a pretty good shape.

Here are some pics, If you need more or from an different angle just let me know cause after I checked like 925725092 pictures already I'm really curious to know what I got here : )

Thank you in advance for helping me out,

Golgo

Hello Golgo,

Welcome to the Forum.

Nice photos.

You have a late Post War IIIc from 1951 in very nice condition.

If you go to the top of this page & click the "wiki" icon & then look @ "Screw-thread bodies" you will find more information about this & many other topics. You can also find out about your lens. By the way, which lens is it?

There are many other research sources available in this Forum to be found by clicking the various Icons @ the top of every page as well as w/ the "Stickys" @ the top of many Sections. The biggest & most valuable research source is the members who write throughout the Forum. They are a large, knowledgable group w/ experience in many fields relative to & outside of photography who generously share their knowledge w/ the variety of perspectives which come from being from all over the World & having a multiplicity of backgrounds.

Best Regards,

Michael

Thank you both, that was really fast, should have asked before spendig hours of comparing pictures =D

Nothing wrong with that. You have learned more by that work than you would have by just getting a quick answer here.

The IIIc is a classic, one of the very best of the screw-thread mount Leicas, and well worth using if you are interested and if everything works the way it should. If not, a simple CLA (clean, lubricate, adjust) job will probably be enough. Working the camera's mechanics regularly is good for the camera's health, by the way.

Don't forget: the lens is collapsible and needs to be pulled forward and rotated to lock before use!!!!!!!

(then there was the time a customer of mine who bought a brand newCanon A-1 tore the pressure plate out of the back because the clear plastic protector said "remove before use")
