OK, so this is probably in the wrong category but the thing that makes it work for me is no the caves but the silhouettes of the people ... so its people not landscape? It's from a set of caves called the Redd Flute caves near Guilin in China.

Digilux 2, everything automatic...

Stuart,

Many thanks! I can't take any credit for the colours ... the Chinese light their caves extremely well!

And its Reed Flute caves (my mistake) not redd flute! Aparently there are reeds growing outside the caves that are particularly good for making flutes!

Well, it's unreal, too!

Good question: was the cave artificially lit?

Reflection is perfect. Effective color display, indeed.

Hi! Sorry for delay in replying - have been in Ireland for a week on annual holiday. Yep. the cave was artificially lit - the Chinese take their 'natural wonders' very seriously and leave almost nothing to chance. They'll tell you where to stand to get the best view and light the scene appropriately for you! In my defence, I sneeked away from the 'approved route' to catch this image. The people you can see as shadows on the left are standing in the 'correct' place having their photos taken!

And sadly, the Digilux's 5 MP sensor makes really big prints unrealistic (especially at about 400ASA)... otherwise ths one would be on my wall now!

thanks for all kind comments
