Gerard Posted December 5, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted December 5, 2011 Only you can answer that question. Â What is your fear? Why are you concerned about regret? What is the reason for the sale/purchase?
smdavey Posted December 5, 2011 Author Share #3  Posted December 5, 2011 Only you can answer that question. What is your fear? Why are you concerned about regret? What is the reason for the sale/purchase?   reason is. really want M8.2 etc.. although have no Budget available for something that is such a luxury, so was thinking hhmm i could sell this..etc..  but just cant decide. so thought is would put it out there and ask others opinions.  cause i love the piece of glass as well. but one lens sold could give me more..  if ya know what i mean..  but would i regret selling such a nice lens... hmmm
farnz Posted December 5, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted December 5, 2011 If it's the 50/1.1 then I would keep it. You have the option of using it on an M film or digital with an adapter and this lens is only appreciating in price (as I feel sure you're aware). Â Opinions on the 50/1.1 Nokton are divided so you would be wise to try one yourself somehow before sacrificing your Zunow for it. Once it's gone it's gone. Â Pete. smdavey Posted December 5, 2011 Author Share #5 Â Posted December 5, 2011 as a note. Yes 50 1.1 i use it on my M film. and its the one with M mount, not screw. Â yeah. this is why its a thought i had to myself tonight, as a way into digital M. Â but. .. well its a really good lens.... Â so maybe just wait and save the old fashioned way.. farnz Posted December 6, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted December 6, 2011 Egads! If you have a Zunow in M-mount it must be uber-rare. They're occasionally available in L-mount (L39 screw) but this is the first time I've heard of one in M-mount (unless I've misunderstood). Frankly I'm surprised since Leica guarded the M-mount patent for so long. Â Pete.

J_Thompson Posted December 6, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted December 6, 2011 There's a Zunow 50mm 1.1 in LTM on Ebay right now listed for $8,899 as a buy it now price. Digital cameras don't appreciate while this rare lens probably will. I think you answered your own question. Keeping it while saving for a digital M would be the wise decision. Jeff S Posted December 6, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted December 6, 2011 Are you using film M(s) now? Are you doing any digital? If answers are yes/no, respectively, then you might try some scanning in the meantime and get into the digital workflow. A good printer set-up will be as important as the camera. (And if the answer to the first question is no, then you should rent a digital M first to be sure it suits you.) Â Jeff
