schmolinski Posted December 9, 2011 Share #21 Posted December 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you Robert and Dario for looking and for your nice comments Robert, my impression after 1 year of M9 and 2 years of M8 is that the pictures with the M8 seem easier for me, I have little failures compared to the M9. the M8 have something I can not say The M9 is a camera that I can not yet tame ... Henry I have the same experience as you and I thought the same thus I sold my M8 soon after my purchase of the M9 and now, oh wonder, the only thing I am missing is the (slightly) better b/w performance of the m8. And sometimes it's good to have a beast, provides some challenges over the time
Advertisement Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Hi schmolinski, Take a look here "Come, come ... to buy fresh fish". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
allamande Posted December 10, 2011 Share #22 Posted December 10, 2011 Henry, I love fish markets (anything that has to do with fishing is a weak point, actually). These are wonderful images as they convey the special character of these markets. Istanbul has lots of interesting fish markets. These reminded me of them.....another time....another place. Thank you for these. Ece

jc_braconi Posted December 14, 2011 Share #35 Posted December 14, 2011 what is your preference? all pictures are uncorrected Thanks for looking Kind regards Henry Doc your post(s) are going on strong, Congratulations, in fact the subject (port activities/people) is a good one. My favorite is the last one. not only for the subject but may be I am openning a pandora box if I tell that R lenses give better rendering than M due to the fact of larger lenses on the same focal basis. will see what users say. dave.gt Posted December 21, 2011 Share #36 Posted December 21, 2011 Wow, Henry...these three (and all the others) are amazing. I will order some Portra 160 and 400 after the first of the month. Might even order the R8 I have been looking at for a couple of weeks! It really is difficult to tell which image is made with which camera to my eyes but the last one is my favorite. Ivan Muller Posted December 22, 2011 Share #39 Posted December 22, 2011 Hi Doc, I really enjoyed your 'slice of life' pictures. I am allso very impressed that you are still shooting film, and that you are doing it so well! On my screen it looks better than the digital images....not that they are bad in any way....I saw the documentary on how the movie 'the american' was made and the director, I forget his name now, but he was/is a famous rock n roll photographer, was still using a R with film....
