.... shouted the fish merchant

I was at Marseille a fishing port in the Mediterranean Sea in Congress of Neurology for a few days : it was very interesting .... but I could get out Sunday to take some pictures of the famous fish market of the "Vieux Port"

.... all fish were practically sold and bargaining is of rigor as the good old times :)

I want to share with you some pictures... :)

How to remove the scales of a fish?

answer :

in the manner of this young girl

when I can, I travel now with my 2 digital M :), but also with a film SLR

I can tell you that the color of Kodak Portra is very similar to the M9

Henry,

A great series. I'd rather be taking pictures than scaling fish. The colors are very nice as is the composition and sharpness.

Paul

Thank you Paul for your nice comments and thanks Ernst for looking

What a beautiful color !

Kodak Portra 160 or the 400 has convinced me!

the colors are identical to the M9 but with more contrast

Hi Henry, nice set of pictures you show here. I have to say that the Portra is my first choice for color film too (and tri-x/d76 1+1 for b&w). :)

Thanks Martin for your comments

Glad to read you again :)

Henry,

Beautiful series. I love those shots with Portra 160. I am starting to shoot film a lot more often now. Portra 400 is my all-purpose color film! Tri

Tri, you have missed to visit Marseille the last time you came in France

because there is a large community of Asians including Vietnamese

and it is a beautiful city :)

Really like #2 with the nets and the whole Portra sequence

Robert thank you for commenting

below another photo of the net taken with M9

What do you think?

i prefer M8 (post n°2)

Lovely series.

and for Ingrid in b&w

You can see the welknown Madonna of the city called "Notre Dame de la Garde" which dominates the hill and overlooking the city and the " Old Port " (" Vieux Port "in french) !

The M9 has imparted a different style to the composition which is more conventional but I too prefer the M8 shot (#2).

Thank you Robert and Dario for looking and for your nice comments

Robert, my impression after 1 year of M9 and 2 years of M8 is that the pictures with the M8 seem easier for me, I have little failures compared to the M9.

the M8 have something I can not say :)

The M9 is a camera that I can not yet tame

Here again another pictures taken with M8
