Lcam11 Posted December 6, 2011 Share #21 Posted December 6, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) ....However, ACR 6.0 2010 (the raw converter of Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5) takes noise control to a whole new level. You can find a long post in the M9 FAQ at the top of this forum. Thanks for the tip!

efix Posted December 7, 2011 Share #22 Posted December 7, 2011 A second vote for the NR of Lightroom - have been very impressed by the new version! Btw: EFIX, the pictures I linked to should all still be shot with your Ultron that I very much enjoy, although getting less use now I got the Nokton 35! Here are some Ultron-shots of Rome for nostalgia purposes Rome Mar/Apr 2011 - a set on Flickr Best, GWG Yes, I notice the distinctive Ultron 28/1.9 rendering! I'm glad you're enjoying the lens! squarenegs Posted December 9, 2011 Share #23 Posted December 9, 2011 .....with banding issues all photos turned out really well I think. Hi Looks like more fun than you get with a Canadian election! It's a great set of images! I've gotten random banding like that, not just with my M8, and I've read and seen samples somewhere on the web that suggest that it could be RF interference from a mobile device/phone. Last week I was shooting a small gallery opening (two M8 bodies, 1250 ISO) at which I definitely saw someone close by, regularly checking a Blackberry and I had quite a number of banded images, from both bodies. They were certainly not caused by low light or under exposure. I'm blaming the evil Blackberry! Regards Sandy

tobey bilek Posted January 1, 2012 Share #25 Posted January 1, 2012 The M digital will not compete with professional dslr for high speed noise, neither 8 or 9. Use a different tool if that is what you need. However I think there are other criteria that make the M digital shine. If you are traveling or need a small light camera, you give up some low light capability. Film was 400 at the end, and we are at the end, and I got along fine. Why do you think digital should be as good at 12,000? I think we are lucky they are equal. My Nikon D3 + 180 2.8 did some sports pics at 1000+ and they were amazing. A Leica M is an inappropriate tool for that. I certainly would not want to carry a D3 around on vacation.
