I downloaded your file and looked at in CS5. The size was 391 Kb. I dropped it to under 300. Try uploading it now. Sorry, I gave a spot of fill light too :D

Technically speaking, such an action is not kosher (from a journalism letter of the law viewpoint).... No problem here I am sure. Just an observation is all.

Not so; you upload your photographs under forum rules, amongst which:

If a member publishes pictures in a forum, he puts them up for discussion and grants the right of use within the forum for an unlimited amount of time.

Thanks all for the assist.

I found the video stickies on upload and save for web size adjustment and just resized for 950 pixels long dimension and keep things down to 290k to allow for errors.

I put up two photos under title "stealth M8" which was moved to "other" category in the photo forum.

The Summarit is a very old design and not really sharp wide open similarly like the other lenses of the era. Contrast is low. But digital can fix the contrast to a large degree, but you are stuck with the softness wide open. Certain photos can exploit this feature well. I would not use this lens for landscapes as a first pick, but it does work 4 to 11 with a bump in contrast. Finding one without scratches and fog inside is imperative. Mine came with a UV filter and the front looks perfect, inside is clear. I have compared with the first two `lux versions and I like mine better except for the new 50 Lux. That being one outstanding lens. Buy one if you want / afford / can find one.

NOTE!

There are two specific Photo Posting Threads you should be aware of:

A: The "M8 Photography" one which has a permanent link to it at the top of our little corner of this leica forum. Most any 'good' image taken with an M8 which the shooter wishes us in the M8 section to be more likely to see.

B: The Old Glass On M8 Thread which floats to the top of our little list whenever someone posts something new to it. It's a nifty little home for sharing images shot with classic lenses, obscure lenses, and even a few lenses dating back to the birth of interchangeable lens rangefinders from Leica.

If 'image sharing' threads get posted here to the M8 forum, they usually will get culled out and moved over to the 'photo sharing' unless the image is shared to illustrate some sort of technical issue affecting image making. Rarely are the loving portraits (Camera Porn!) of our M Bodies, lenses, and misc gear, moved off to the Photo Forums.

Peace

Richard in Michigan

Actually I liked it better before JAAPV inserted fill.

Me too, the edited image seems to have a magenta cast (may have been there in the first image but brought out by the edit?).

(Sorry JAAPV and you're probably muttering, "there's no accounting for taste, poor lass.")

:D

I think JAAPV did Improve It.

Tobey: lovely image. It has what I would term "atmosphere." Actually I liked it better before JAAPV inserted fill. (Sorry JAAPV and you're probably muttering, "there's no accounting for taste, poor lass.")
