tobey bilek Posted December 4, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) My son talked me into one, so we each bought one. Camera is new to me by 48 hours. I used an uncoded, unfiltered original Summarit 1.5, probably around 2.0 Christmas tree ligkts were principal illumination. Why does pic not show? jaapv Posted December 4, 2011 Share #8 Posted December 4, 2011 trying without manage attachments, linked to Photobucket. Manage always used to work for me before. Photobucket is not on the list of approved links in this forum, so it will not display the image. It will, of course, display the link. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/about-leica-forum/174303-new-rule-about-linking-external-images.html#post1658432 For sponsoring members the limit in manage attachments is 615 Kb. For standard members the limit is 300 Kb.
tobey bilek Posted December 4, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted December 4, 2011 upload was successful so manage attachments says and cs5 says photo within limits, 297 vs. 302 was ok guess I have to give up.

No, not really. Just give it a few percent of error margin. The various computers seem to measure file sizes slightly differently sometimes. K-H. jaapv Posted December 4, 2011 Share #11 Posted December 4, 2011 I downloaded your file and looked at in CS5. The size was 391 Kb. I dropped it to under 300. Try uploading it now. k-hawinkler Posted December 4, 2011 Share #12 Posted December 4, 2011 Jaap, It's better to look at the file size in the file system, i.e. the finder. In CS5 file size depends also on the parameters on chooses. At least, that's my experience. K-H.
jaapv Posted December 4, 2011 Share #13 Posted December 4, 2011 Yes - I used " get info" on the desktop. It agreed more or less with CS5.
philipus Posted December 4, 2011 Share #14 Posted December 4, 2011 Congrats Tobey. I've been wondering about the M8 too. Not that I'm really dying to go back into digital (though I haven't fully left it, I have to say; I just don't use my Canon gear much at all). Since used M8s are quite affordable compared to new or used M9s I've been wondering if I should at least keep the option open.
WestMichigan Posted December 4, 2011 Share #15 Posted December 4, 2011 Hi PHilipus, this is the M8 forum on L-Camera! So Surprise! jippiejee Posted December 9, 2011 Share #17 Posted December 9, 2011 I also got my first M8 this week. Lovely little beast. Most surprising after shooting film is how tight my 50mm lens is all of a sudden... Now I'll go and upload some pictures for Jaapv to edit and improve. WestMichigan Posted December 9, 2011 Share #18 Posted December 9, 2011 Query: "AKAREX + schneider-kreuznach Xenon 50/2.0" is in your sigline, but I have no idea what an akarex is, could you explain? I've shot with a Xenon fifty of some vintage or another - on a balda rangefinder if I recall correctly. Decent film lens, but I didn't explore it that extensively. Thanx Richard in Michigan Ahhhhhh Upload any images and Jaapv will enhance for you!

dave.gt Posted December 10, 2011 Share #20 Posted December 10, 2011 Tobey, that really is a nice photograph! Would love to see more from the Summarit on the M8! I have a 5cm Summarit 1.5 and it works beautifully on the M3. An M8 is in my future, so any postings would be helpful. Thanks.
