Advertisement Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi dave.gt, Take a look here External VF alternatives?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dave.gt Posted December 3, 2011 Author Share #2 Â Posted December 3, 2011 Come on, Folks, does anyone have a suggestion of a VF that will work other than the original X1 VF?
prk60091 Posted December 3, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted December 3, 2011 I have read on many many many posts in this very forum (which is searchable) that many are using the voightlander 35mm vf. Really any OVF that is of the proper focal length will work.
Paul Verrips Posted December 3, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted December 3, 2011 Maybe you should ad X1 to the topic title?
timd. Posted December 3, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted December 3, 2011 Maybe you should ad X1 to the topic title? Â he posted it in the the x1 subforum, that should do. Â Â just get a 35mm finder of your choice, the brand doesn't matter

Really any OVF that is of the proper focal length will work. Â Thanks for the response. I read on RFF that someone had severe problems with one of the voightlander VFs where the framelines were badly tilted.... Â I like the older, vintage style finders and am hoping someone has had positive experiences with one of those.
robert blu Posted December 3, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted December 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry, I cannot help because I have the Leica one. Is it good? yes, at least for me. Is it expensive? Yes, it is. robert
dave.gt Posted December 3, 2011 Author Share #8 Â Posted December 3, 2011 Hi, Robert! Â Thanks for that. I wonder if the VF for the X1 would work on the M3 for a 35mm lens? Anyways, I will probably stick with the X1 VF.
bill Posted December 4, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted December 4, 2011 I'm missing something here. Why would the X1 viewfinder not work for the M3, or for any other camera come to that? I successfully used a SBOOI on my D-Lux 4 for years. Â Regards, Â Bill

I like the old vintage VF and I love the fact that they would fit the M3 (unless there is something I don't know about them). So, yeah, I am looking harder into the X1 as my next purchase.
