Advertisement Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi cirke, Take a look here Shoulder or Sling bag (lenses + Ipad). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Double Negative Posted December 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2011 Have you checked out the Think Tank Photo "Retrospective 5" bag? Or perhaps some of the Crumpler bags.

Double Negative Posted December 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 1, 2011 Quite welcome. I'm a big fan of the "Urban Disguise 20" bag which go figure, is now discontinued. The "Urban Disguise" line is the sibling to the "Retrospective" bags - the former is a shoulder type bag with a central zipper and the latter is more of a messenger bag with a Velcro flap. The larger versions can even hold laptops. Though the UD20 won't hold an iPad... Not sure offhand if the R5 will. You might need to go up a size (but then it might start getting too big for RF gear). One of the biggest reasons I love the UD20 so much; it's perfect for a body and 4-5 lenses. Crumpler also offers a huge selection of bags. With something on the small side like a "Four (or Five) Million Dollar Home" bag, you can use the front pocket (which isn't padded).
MikeEvangelist Posted December 1, 2011 Share #5 Posted December 1, 2011 How about the Billingham Small Hadley? It's very compact, yet holds a fair amount of gear. Here's what I've got in mine. Shade Posted December 1, 2011 Share #6 Posted December 1, 2011 Errrhhh how does that small hadley fit so much? I have the exact same sized bag but called billingham for leica so it comes in a leica box, but I don't think it can hold that much.. I was even thinking of getting myself a 225.. petebw Posted December 1, 2011 Share #7 Posted December 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use a Hadley Pro. In addition to the body with attached lens, there is room for another 2 or 3 lenses in the Leica zipped pouches. I slip my iPad (or sometimes 11" Air) down between the padded insert and the back of the bag. The two expanding pockets on the front are large enough for an sd24 and/or power supplies as needed. hth Erick...
Jeff S Posted December 1, 2011 Share #8 Posted December 1, 2011 You're relatively new to the forum, so you might not be aware that bag threads are likely the most popular and recurring. Try entering some terms (bag for...fill in the blank) into the search box at the top right and you'll find enough to keep you busy all day. Here is a recent discussion to get you started. The same 5 or 7 brands, and models of varying size within that brand depending on the need, come up over and over...and over. (Hint...you can enter M8 as well as M9 and get a lot more history, but the same need.) Jeff
cirke Posted December 1, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted December 1, 2011 thanks to all and sorry to ask again :-) I was using Hasselblad and Canon and now a M9 , not exactly the same size
MikeEvangelist Posted December 1, 2011 Share #10 Posted December 1, 2011 Errrhhh how does that small hadley fit so much? I have the exact same sized bag but called billingham for leica so it comes in a leica box, but I don't think it can hold that much That Leica-branded bag looks different to me; it appears to have one big zippered pocket in front. The Small Hadley has two smaller pockets with snap flaps. Here's how mine is packed - Main section is set up divided into three parts. The center is sized to hold the camera with the 50mm lens mounted. The left and right areas area slightly smaller, and have the small padded flaps velcro'd about one third of the way down. I put the 90mm on the left/bottom and the flash on the right/bottom. Then the padded flaps go down, and the 24mm and 15mm go on top. The iPad slips in the space behind the padded insert, with the screen facing the padding. The little tripod, 15mm viewfinder, battery, etc, go in the front pockets. Welcome, dear visitor! Double Negative Posted December 1, 2011 Share #11 Posted December 1, 2011 thanks to all and sorry to ask again :-) I was using Hasselblad and Canon and now a M9 , not exactly the same size Don't try to find one bag to fit all those different systems. Unless you "err" on the side of large. A Crumpler Six or Seven Million Dollar Home, for example - can carry any one of those systems. Large for RF, about right for DSLR and Hassy. ChrNil49 Posted December 1, 2011 Share #12 Posted December 1, 2011 I just posted a review of the Billingham Hadley Pro that I use for my Leica gear, would easily fit what you need to put in it. IkarusJohn Posted December 1, 2011 Share #13 Posted December 1, 2011 mono_9 dothebag from Monochrom Takes M9, 4 lenses (wrapped and stacked), iPad and more (if you can lift it). Flap over the top keeps out the weather. Cheers John

thighslapper Posted December 1, 2011 Share #17 Posted December 1, 2011 mono_9 dothebag from Monochrom Takes M9, 4 lenses (wrapped and stacked), iPad and more (if you can lift it). Flap over the top keeps out the weather. Cheers John Great bags ..... I've tried loads and the Dothebags are perfect for Leica sized gear. The smaller Dothebag Mono 6 will also do 4 lenses, M9 with Noctilux or bigger, iPad between liner and bag itself, plus room for mini tripod down the side and room for batteries, macro adapter for the 90/4 etc plus 3 pockets in various places for cash/passports/sd cards The supplied spacers need some crafty surgery but all this fits without a struggle, no stacking and everything is instantly to hand.... small at 28x15x15cm and doesn't look too much like a camera bag. Nice soft leather that ages well too.....
cirke Posted December 1, 2011 Author Share #18 Posted December 1, 2011 the Dothebag Mono 6 seems to be made of leather , I try to avoid leather if I can but thanks anyway
Studio58 Posted December 4, 2011 Share #19 Posted December 4, 2011 the Artisan & Artist bags are the best I have seen. Mine seems about as small as the Billingham but takes 2 Leica M bodies, 4 lenses, light meter, pelican case for 8 SD cards and my wallet, keys and room for more. Unbelievably, it is quite a small package.
