barjohn Posted February 21, 2007 Share #21  Posted February 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica is not yet late, either with the filters or with the 1.10 firmware update. I would suggest perhaps a little more patience?  Jeff  Here is what my email from Leica said: Amount Designation available as of Order Nos. 1E39 blackFeb. 07134101E46 blackFeb. 0713411 Best regards, Your Leica internet team  I realize that there is a language difference and maybe there is a disconnect in translation but available as of Feb 07 would mean from the beginning of February, not the end and 20 days should be adequate for shipping time. Otherwise one say available as of March 07 or if the first of the month wasn't the intended date one would specify a date. The first is the implied date. So, yes - they are late and a little communications would be helpful.  On a separate note, does anyone know if the Heliopan UV/IR Cut filters are generally more expensive than the B + W? Â I've not looked at their filters lately but in the past, Heliopan filters seemed to be priced higher than B+W. I think it's because Heliopan is a smaller outfit and they cannot compete with B+W in terms of volume.
parigby Posted February 21, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted February 21, 2007 I can second 808's comments about Foto Huppert. I have dealt with them on a couple of occasions recently and found them very helpful and reliable.

wlaidlaw Posted February 21, 2007 Share #25  Posted February 21, 2007 My B+W black 43mm 486 filter arrived this morning. Excellent next day service from Fotosense UK. Delighted to say instant cure for GNC flash underexpsoure on both the Metz 54 and Leica SF24 - I would guess brings it up by one to one and a half stops. FYI it fits just fine inside the hood on a Biogon 35mm. Just barely detectable cyan corners on this lens on taking a plain white surface straight on but probably not noticeable in real images. More apparent if you take white surface at 45º but still not a huge problem. Anyone interested in Leica 43mm filter as and when it arrrives?  I also received my Abrahamson softie release this morning. Peter Walnes has the full range in the UK at a very reasonable £9 incl P&P. I got a glossy black one, which goes nicely with my piebald silver camera with black lenses. Much easier to get that "half press", particulalry for me, as I am missing half the tip to my index finger.  Wilson

I hope everything works out for you concerning flash-exposure.  Cheers,  Peter
