stuny Posted November 23, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2011 Chris - I'm moving this to the Digital section -- this section is for displaying and commenting on photos. I'll leave a forwarding link from the Technology and Industry Photos section.
macjim Posted November 24, 2011 Share #4 Posted November 24, 2011 I afraid iPhoto can be a heart breaker. I lost close to two hundred photos and time machine didn't have them to restore. So, my advice is to check regularly that backups are being made. If you haven't written over the lost images on the card, they should still be recoverable — unless the card has been corrupted — with a recovery software. CalArts 99 Posted November 25, 2011 Share #5 Posted November 25, 2011 They are there. iPhoto's database is hidden but just control click on the application icon and it will say "Show package contents." Click on that and you'll open up the library of originals. Even if you back up with Time Machine, they will be there.
jaapv Posted November 25, 2011 Share #6 Posted November 25, 2011 And don't use an USB cable- use a cardreader and lock the card before uploading to your computer - that way nothing can happen to your files. Rescue Pro will recover files, even from a formatted card. If the card has become corrupted Mac's Disk Repair Utility may be able to restore it, otherwise you stand a good chance with Disk Warrior. jaapv Posted November 25, 2011 Share #7 Posted November 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Btw, as you can see we are a helpful bunch and don't mind answering a reasonable question but next time address Nikon posts to one of the Nikon forums, as this one is meant for Leica.
