Ditched the card and no problems afterwards. Â I had the problem with a card I used for 2 years without problems. Â But maybe thinking of the chart. Switched camera off for a few minutes. Worked fine after that episode that day. I am afraid black frames is not a new phenomenon but an M9 feature - occasionally. 250swb Posted November 23, 2011 Share #43 Â Posted November 23, 2011 And yet a 16gb SandDisk Extreme III has been the most reliable card/only card in my M9 since I got it in 2009, so it isn't a straight line that connects black frames and SanDisk. jrovner Posted November 24, 2011 Author Share #45 Â Posted November 24, 2011 Today I did a photo shoot of about 200 shots. I'm happy to report that the black frame issue did not recur. That's a good thing, because today's shots included some portraits of legendary San Francisco street photographer Vladimir, with his heavily customized M2s. Â Someone on this thread had suggested that my problem may have been caused by my failure to reformat my card after installing the new firmware. Perhaps that's correct. They act up in all cameras I tried them in, I had to reformat them three times in the DMR before it would even write to them. I think I will just throw them away.
