Sean Hemingway Posted April 9, 2008 Share #7 Posted April 9, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) How is the service in the NJ facility? Before making a judgement I would like to know if others had experienced the same quality of service: I sent my M6 for CLA in early Feb 2008, and was told it will be done by March 21st. Come March, they are telling me it will be April 21st (today is April 8th). Has anyone experienced this delay? Sean
spylaw4 Posted April 9, 2008 Share #8 Posted April 9, 2008 But if there is a God, why do so many M8's die? Perhaps God has not yet seen the (Leica) light?
chkphoto Posted April 9, 2008 Share #9 Posted April 9, 2008 Regarding Leica NJ - I don't believe robert fisk is still there. I have Sarah Mayville, sarah.mayville@leicacamerausa.com as a new contact in repair. However, I think that the service has gone awry there. I had a lens issue (excessive movement in the zoom barrel) with my D3 but was told by NJ to send both the body and lens to NJ. I received repair estimates, one each for the body and lens, both stating they were unable to repair in NJ and were sent to Germany and with a 4 to 6 week repair time. I then received a phonecall from NJ telling me that Germany was stating that they could find nothing wrong with the D3 body. I said, "There was nothing wrong - it's the lens" "But you told me to send the body too, please read the letter I sent with the camera" I was told that they would email Germany with that info and get back to me. So far, not a word... This all started the end of February.
