Advertisement Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Hi cirke, Take a look here a 50 mm summilux in Europe. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted November 12, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted November 12, 2011 erick, I think they are trickling through because my dealer emailed me this week. He had received just one copy which is on its way to a new owner. It seems strange, but dealers in the UK rarely know in advance which new Leica lenses will arrive in their stores against back orders. Â My advice is to telephone around. You might just be lucky. Better advice is to register your interest with a chosen official Leica dealer and be patient. Patience is eventually rewarded!

Patience is eventually rewarded!  They can do that because they are selling their display lens, they know schedule for their display units. In principle they cannot sell it, but in special case, especially for their long good customer that has been queuing for so long, they are allowed to sell it. Only Leica Mayfair has a selection of display lenses. My dealer certainly does not and he expressed his extreme surprise that one was delivered to him. He has been waiting a very long time for new stock. I am pretty sure that situation is common among most regional Leica dealers in the UK. Unless someone has facts to the contrary. colonel Posted November 12, 2011 Share #8  Posted November 12, 2011 depends where you are, but I suspect that the Leica shop in London gets slightly more stock then other shops.  However they only sell at retail recommended price  I was glad to pick up a 50mm f1.4 asph there, even though it was more then £150 more expensive than a few retail shops I have seen

cirke Posted November 13, 2011 Author Share #13  Posted November 13, 2011 I want it new because if I buy them in Germany I get the VAT back , and if I buy them in any European country I don't pay the VAT  so I prefer to wait for this reason, where are you located ? I am French but I live in Würzburg  thanks

spylaw4 Posted November 14, 2011 Share #15 Â Posted November 14, 2011 Apart from an official Leica Store, I think you would be lucky to find a dealer with sufficient lenses to be able to display many, if any, and even then only the "less desirable" ones.
