Keith (M) Posted November 8, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having taken the plunge into the world of Leica a year ago with an M9 and subsequently an M7 and M4, I now find myself becoming interest in the screw-mount bodies. I have a copy of the latest reprint of Erwin Puts 'Leica Compendium' on order and from his blog it does cover these products, but I wonder in how much detail. Will it detail the differences in the various types (i.e. between a IIIc and IIIg etc) or would I need to look elsewhere for such information? PS - if anyone has a (Leica) body manufactured in 1946 they no longer need...

luigi bertolotti Posted November 8, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 8, 2011 Our Wiki section is very useful to have a global look on the "Barnacks", too: give a look at it and you'll find almost all the basics about the various models. Happens that I do have a IIIc from 1946......I can't honestly say that I NEED it,,, but is my first Leica !!! How could I ever sell it ?

earleygallery Posted November 8, 2011 Share #7 Posted November 8, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) A lllc which is 'your' period also happens to be an excellent choice for a Barnack to use, and even better it's also generally one of the less expensive models now.
