Advertisement Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Hi ctb, Take a look here For Pete, West Coast of Scotland. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hsw Posted February 18, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 18, 2007 Well "novice" you're well on your way. These are all very nice. I like #1 the most; good use of wide angle and depth of field. Can you tell us what equipment you're using? Are you teaching yourself or taking classes? Regards, Henry
elansprint72 Posted February 18, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 18, 2007 Hey Chris thanks for those, nice set and as for you being a complete novice, I don't think so! Apart from one slightly tilted horizon, there's not much to complain about. Hope the take-away was good. Mrs T and myself were talking only today about visiting the West coast this August, the question is: will it be the West of Scotland, or the West of Ireland? Ireland seems favourite and perhaps Scotland in June 08, less midges! Thanks again, Pete.
yavetshm Posted February 18, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 18, 2007 Chris I choose #1. Hope these are only a begining. Haim
ctb Posted February 18, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted February 18, 2007 Thanks for the positive compliments, camera I am using is a Leica V-Lux 1, trouble is I only have the use of my left hand, paralysed the right arm in a road traffic accident in 1978, but life goes on, as with everything I do, it's self taught, I did dabble in photography in the 70's as a hobby for a couple of months with a Zenith E camera, beauty of the digital is you can take as many practice shots as you want and hopefully get a good one. It would be helpfull to have some guidance, I do not learn easily from a book
stuny Posted February 19, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 19, 2007 Chris - Welcome to the forum. You have a very good eye, and I find all the shots appealing. #1 is my favorite but I felt it needed a bit of post processing. I spent about 30 seconds on this with exposure adjustment and sharpening -- My vision might not coincide with yours, and you might not like this, but with digital I think we should assume that most images will need a bit of post processing. I finally came to that conclusion about 18 months after taking my first digital photos (with a D2). For me it was a revelation.
ctb Posted February 19, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted February 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) your rendition of photo #1 is greatly improved, I will have a play with photoshop and see if I can get to grips with it. Thanks for the tip. Chris
