michali Posted November 4, 2011 Share #21  Posted November 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) The solution which has served me well is to cut the original camera strap down to about 25cm (10in). Then heat / burn the end with a lighter to stop the strap from slipping out of the fastener. I've done on this all my Ms. It's more a question of reliability rather than being a cheap solution.  Welcome, dear visitor! Tietje Posted November 4, 2011 Share #22  Posted November 4, 2011 The wrist strap that I bought from Stephens of Manchester 9 months is very similar to this one that Red Dot sells (A&A). Though mine actually holds a Digilux 2, its very comfortable and I use it all the time. Stephens charged me £25!

Stephens charged me £25!  The last time I looked, the one that Stephens sell was identical to the one I bought from a Chinese vendor on eBay. From memory it was about £8 including p&p - mind you it took weeks to arrive. The vendor was quite open about how long free shipping would take, and I could have paid extra for a faster delivery, but I wasn't in a hurry. If I'd have wanted one ASAP I would have bought it from Stephens.

Keith (M) Posted November 9, 2011 Share #27 Â Posted November 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Am considering buying a wrist strap so this thread has been useful. Looking at the Gordy, I wonder how durable the waxed binding holding it together is.
bill Posted November 9, 2011 Share #28 Â Posted November 9, 2011 My oldest Gordy is probably more than a lustrum old and is as good as new. Â Regards, Â Bill
farnz Posted November 10, 2011 Share #29 Â Posted November 10, 2011 I had the A&A wrist strap (still have the silk strap on my D2) and although it's high quality but expensive it's made way for a Mr Zhou wrist strap, which is very soft but strong leather, has an adjustable leather ring to prevent the strap from dropping off your wrist, and has a bound area that is relaxing to hold for long periods. I don't fret about dangling my camera from a good quality split ring so this strap suits me very well. Â Pete.

If it proves to be as good as it looks I'll order a second for my M7.
