Washington Posted October 19, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Isn’t a 50mm Summicron a Leica device? So, What’s the problem?
Advertisement Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Hi Washington, Take a look here Moved Again. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted October 19, 2011 Share #2 Posted October 19, 2011 Yep- but your thread was about an Nex7 which happened to have the lens attached. Even so, even a thread in the Digital forum is supposed to have some connection to Leica(except when talking postprocessing) so there is no reason not to put it there. Disclaimer: it was not me that moved the thread- but I would have.
Washington Posted October 19, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted October 19, 2011 I’m sorry jaapv but that just isn’t so. I clearly state I was using a NEX-5N with a Leica Summicron 50 and 75 mm optical finder. The ONLY mention of a NEX- 7 was my comment that I am looking forward to using one. Read the post!!!! I just get the feeling I am being singled out for ultra pettiness. What purpose all this serves is beyond me when the sprit of posting is sharing infomation. jaapv Posted October 19, 2011 Share #4 Posted October 19, 2011 re-read. You are discussing the body, not the lenses as such. It was correct move. I have seen no instances of you being singled out. As for sharing information- the post was just moved to the appropriate forum with a redirect. Not one letter deleted. How could information be lost? Washington Posted October 19, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted October 19, 2011 I have been shooting with a NEX-5N body with a Novoflex adapter for M lenses. Today I used a 50mm Summicron with a 75mm optical finder above. The picture quality is superb but there are many drawbacks using manual mode. Some of them will be corrected if I get the electronic finder from China. It’s terribly hard to focus from the rear screen even though I programed one button enlarge the image for manual focus. Actually, the dial and buttons on the rear that are needed for exposure compensation are just too easy to press while using and put the camera into an unwanted mode. Not too user friendly as one has to be so careful. Never-the-less, it’s an interesting contraption with a great sensor and excellent high ISO quality. I do look forward to the NEX-7 where I hope dials will replace these dopey buttons. This is what I said: NOW, was I using a Leica lens or not?
