Advertisement Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Hi dwcolvin, Take a look here Digilux 3 used in Sports Illustrated swimsuit shoot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bohtho Posted February 16, 2007 Share #2  Posted February 16, 2007 Fantastic! I Guess it pays to have Live View, image stabilization and a big aperture ring when that´s your photographic object

Bo_Lorentzen Posted February 16, 2007 Share #5  Posted February 16, 2007 So If I bring by Digilux3 - automatically very young and scantly clad woman will want to pose for me..? This clearly is a whole new perspective on my camera.  Clearly the Digilux 3 kit lens did fall in favor, as it looks like the camera is used straight out of the box with the kit lens and all. that really speak rather well of the package in general.   Bo  My Leica scratch page - random thoughts , pictures and such. bohtho Posted February 16, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted February 16, 2007 So If I bring by Digilux3 - automatically very young and scantly clad woman will want to pose for me..? ] Â You could also see it the other way around: When the model posed for the photographer like that, he was clearly going for an association being made from using the fallos symbol which the relatively small bodied, but steel coloured, Digilux 3 with the gigiantic Vario Elmarit kit lens is. Iron Flatline Posted February 16, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted February 16, 2007 Hmmm.... Can't translate this into English, but in German I'm thinking to myself: "Tiere mag sie nicht, aber sie ist nett zu Voegeln..."
dugby Posted February 17, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted February 17, 2007 In Australia she would say.... Â "Is that a Leica D3 Elmarit in your trouser pocket.....or are you just pleased to see me ?"
jrc Posted February 17, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted February 17, 2007 Or, in my case, the 5 cm collapsible Summicron. Â JC

Can't translate this into English, but in German I'm thinking to myself: "Tiere mag sie nicht, aber sie ist nett zu Voegeln..." LichMD Posted February 17, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted February 17, 2007 Does this mean anything more than just "she doesn't like animals, but she is nice to birds"? Â Â Yeah I Babelfished this as well, not quite sure what Iron Flatline was going tor here.
Iron Flatline Posted February 17, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted February 17, 2007 It's a pun from the 1960s. It's like seeing a carpet sales woman, and saying "she doesn't like wool, but she's nice to shag." Â In that case the word "Voegeln" had two distinct meanings, and is a noun in one version, a verb in the other. Â ....note that I said I wouldn't really be able to translate it.... bohtho Posted February 17, 2007 Share #14  Posted February 17, 2007 Ah...ok, so if I were a translator for subtitles I might write:  She doesn´t like (most) animals (or fur), but she enjoys fox.  Or the even more blunt:  She doesn´t like animals, but she´s nice to .. male hens.   Ah, the intrincities of the german language.. Takes me back to high school in Norway where german is an obligatory third language.
carstenw Posted February 17, 2007 Share #15 Â Posted February 17, 2007 Hahaha, I had forgotten that meaning. It is neat how German can often be written both forwards and backwards with the same meaning. Â I think I won't translate it, for the benefit of the children on our forum

Its part of that "hidden benefit" you get for the added cost.
