Ecar, how I envy those that can visit far away places that I being 81 can't. At 17 I joined the US Navy and visited the world curtsy Uncle Sam. I have only a few images of that time, how I remember Cuba pre Castro, another time another world. :)

Hey, you old fart calm down or I'm going to sell my MATE.

I used my MATE in a 50mm lens comparison over on getDPI post #49. So go over there and tell me which shot was taken with my MATE.

Let me know. The old fart from Stuart.

OK, Stan your time to post. So which shot is the MATE?

Algrove, I can't really tell you, what's really important is that you used and posted an image taken with a Mate, for this I thank you. If you choose to tell us I'd be interested but, I am not interested in guessing games. :)

JD, thanks for the images. I didn't see to much difference in the first three nor in the last three. Both sets were focused very well. What model mate do you have, 55MM f/4 or 46MM Mate? If you have different images with the Mate I'd be interested, again thanks. :)

Mark, I am aware of that but, perhaps I didn't phrase myself properly. What I meant was the scene photographed were all the same item, yes photographed taken at different focal lengths. I stand corrected:o

jd, beautiful images but, why do you always post three of nearly the same scene? :)

Stan,

I thought you wanted to see a comparative difference. That's the only reason for three of the same subject.

Hi stanjan0 et al

Still in Italy and have to say MATE has been indispensible. What a wonderful travel lens!!!

Using it about 70% of time with 18 and 135 Tele Elmar balance of time. 35 Cron, 50 lux and 75 Cron see a little time.

Leica said a great travel lens and so it is. Will see about posting when return next week.

There is some rather odd distortion showing up in the columns of the left-hand side of the WATE shots which makes me think I would prefer a couple of equivalent single focal length lenses.

Nick

Do you think a single focal length would be different?
