likalar Posted October 3, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) M9, 90mm Elmarit M (latest version), heavily cropped. The yard is crowded with these spiders this fall. The sunlit colors in the web are either spectrum-related or digital hocus-pocus. I didn't add them. Is this common in spider web pics? Thanks for having a look.
Advertisement Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Hi likalar, Take a look here Spiders, on the Web (2). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

allamande Posted October 4, 2011 Share #3 Posted October 4, 2011 Larry, These are terrific indeed! I have several of these in my garden and I would like to know what kind of spider this is. Do you know? Those stripes are just too exquisite. I don't know why there are reflective colors on the web but they do add a nice effect. Ece
likalar Posted October 4, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted October 4, 2011 Thanks, Mnutzer, Ece, and Stuart, glad you enjoyed them.... Ece, no idea what they are called. I've been warned they lay lots of eggs and will take over the world ....I had but 1 last year, now I have at least a dozen, so have relocated several already. pauledell Posted October 4, 2011 Share #5 Posted October 4, 2011 Larry, A nice capture of nature's perfect architecture with the web standing out from the background. Paul
allamande Posted October 5, 2011 Share #6 Posted October 5, 2011 Larry, I found this one outside my door this morning, hanging from the roof, after rain. It's not a good rendering (cropped and I blew the focus) but I like the way we see how it is hanging on to what remains of its web. They've definitely taken over my neighborhood Ece
likalar Posted October 5, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted October 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ece, really nice shot! Amazing creatures. The legs look very sharp-so hard to get it all sharp when that close. What lens? Larry
allamande Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8 Posted October 5, 2011 Larry, thank you! You are so nice (and good for my photographer's ego ). This was shot with an old 90 elmarit (ca. 1970) that I recently received as a present. I cropped it a bit; it was shot at 1 m. I am still experimenting with this lens, and I already like it very much. Ece
jaques Posted October 8, 2011 Share #9 Posted October 8, 2011 the magenta flare does seem to crop up on these shots- I have done a few myself with similar results to yours- I think it is a digital sensor thing or CA or some such.
