frc Posted February 17, 2007 Share #21 Posted February 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Regulations are strict, you'll have to wait till one month after the date of the vaccination before you are allowed to ship your new dog. I've imported many pups from France ( Labrit / Perenees Shepherddog ) and only have I been able once to escape the rule because of a vet with Belgian origins who liked to fool with the French rules. She antedated our documents. And by the way, we traveled by car and didn't get checked at the border. Our pup was from a remote area in the mountains where there was no chance of any diseases. Don't act like me, play by the rules. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! jaapv Posted February 20, 2007 Share #22 Posted February 20, 2007 Reply by KLM/Air France They will transport dogs and cats from the age of 10 weeks upwards. Up to 4kg's in a cage that will fit under the chair (dimensions given) may travel in the cabin. ( Nortwest 6.5 kg)Their only documentary concern is that documents pertaining to import in the country of destination be affixed to the cage and carry an English translation. robert_parker Posted February 20, 2007 Share #23 Posted February 20, 2007 I think there is definitely mileage in contacting the US Embassy in Paris, as they are likely to have access to the latest import to US / export from France data, as well as being able to advise on alternatives and perhaps even make some phonecalls to clarify marginal issues. Probably more so than the other route of the French Embassy in Washington
