Jeffry Abt Posted September 12, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are the prices reasonable? This is what they say... "FABULOUS LEICA COLLECTION We recently hit spectacular pay-dirt: the most magnificent collection of vintage Leica we've ever seen.... there is so much.....both screw- and bayonet mount; Visoflexes, and light meters. Filters.... significant books.... cases....You'll love this selection! Better and more than in the best camera shops in the world..." Advertisement Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hi Jeffry Abt, Take a look here Leica stuff. For Sale. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sabears Posted September 12, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 12, 2011 FABULOUS LEICA COLLECTION? Seems that these people are not very experienced. Optimistic description, moreover the material does not look anything special. Cheers.
jc_braconi Posted September 12, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2011 Some prices are on the high rate IMHO, especially on this M5.
luigi bertolotti Posted September 12, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2011 Some prices are on the high rate IMHO, especially on this M5. Yes... even if has a black Summilux... some items are rather correctly priced... but is a seller which, expecially in the grading system, does not inspire top confidence : the original Swiss horseshoe looks much more appealing... ... dunno if 9 US$ is a correct mean price on the market, but even if one thinks of buying 4 of them (old Leicas are usable... I hope the same for old horseshoes...) maybe is worth the risk... I wait for an opinion from one of my Yahoos... (I presume that even if J.Swift didn't say, they are good Net literates...). masjah Posted September 12, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 12, 2011 $1659 for an R3 plus 50/2 is just daft.

huubl Posted September 13, 2011 Share #8 Posted September 13, 2011 $539 for the 2.8 summaron is cheap. It looks like an LTM with a M-mount converter. In these days the M3 v1 35mm Summicron is not too expensive either.

BenMacPhoto Posted September 15, 2011 Share #10 Posted September 15, 2011 Most of the prices seem a bit high. But I went ahead and picked up the 35 Summaron. We'll see how EX+ the rating actually is when it arrives.
StephenPatterson Posted September 15, 2011 Share #11 Posted September 15, 2011 Agree the cameras and lenses are high to very high, but meters and book prices seem more in line with current sales, however detailed descriptions are lacking.
wizard Posted September 15, 2011 Share #12 Posted September 15, 2011 The seller does not appear to have much knowledge re Leica items. The goggled Summicron 35mm lens is advertised as "close focus", and you should always remove the goggles when mounting and unmounting the lens. Go figure. BenMacPhoto Posted September 22, 2011 Share #13 Posted September 22, 2011 The 35mm f2.8 Summaron came in the mail today. Its a screw mount version with an M2 35mm adapter. Glass is in great shape. Glad Jeffry posted the link to this because I haven't been able to find a 35 Summaron for that price in a long time.

Glad Jeffry posted the link to this because I haven't been able to find a 35 Summaron for that price in a long time. Congratulations. I think you did well. Screwmount Summarons are relative rare, only some 5000 were made and because of that they generally are valued a bit higher than M-mount lenses. Apart from that, these lenses have become enormously popular in the last few years and have increased considerably in value.
